Updated : May 16, 2026

In a bid to combat the steep fall in footfalls for Hindi films, even Dharma Productions is adapting to a new ticket rate reduction system. For their upcoming release, Chand Mera Dil, tickets will be aggressively priced at Rs. 149 and Rs. 199 exclusively on the opening day. This move comes at a crucial time for Dharma, as the production house desperately needs a hit after facing losses with recent underperforming projects.

The intense romance features Lakshya, who is returning after the theatrical success of Kill and the OTT hit Bads of Bollywood. Leading lady Ananya Pandey is also in strong need of a genuine blockbuster at the box office. While the discounted pricing is strictly aimed at drawing in young crowds on day one, limiting this strategy instead of extending it through the entire first week might be a missed opportunity to attract a wider family audience.

Currently, Chand Mera Dil has not generated the anticipated buzz among Hindi-speaking audiences. With IPL 2026 reaching its peak, the film will rely heavily on highly positive word-of-mouth to survive. It appears Karan Johar is testing different strategies to see what sticks in a tough market. It remains to be seen if this opening day pricing gamble actually helps. Chand Mera Dil is releasing on 22nd May.
